I don't like it, you don't like it, but it keeps happening. What's worse is it takes me longer and longer to get back. I'm not even going to discuss how long it's been since I've created art on my computer but I digress. This is not my welcome back journal. It is an admission of defeat. But a happy defeat.

I am an official LLC. That means [for those of you not on US soil in case it's different elsewhere] that I own my own business LEGITAMITLEY. Just realized I can't spell that word. Oh well. Spelling has nothing to do with graphic design, so there.

I totally tried to fix it twice, but I hate trying to get my mac mouse to right click. It never listens. So it shall stay misspelled.

Back to my news. I now am the proud owner/director of my own Graphic Design firm, A. Mata Designs LLC. It has been super crazy nuts since I cut through the red tape and launched my company. People are jumping off of buildings to get me to do their designs. Mostly business cards, logos and other randomly boring things. So you won't catch me uploading those things on here unless I feel like they are super artistic and innovative. So far - meh. But I was ready for that. You've got to design a fair share of letterheads to make it to awesome designs for art magazines and the like in the future.

Now I'm not alone, I've got a team. A team of fantastic people backing me up. I'm subcontracting web developers so I don't have to spend too much time coding websites when I've got a lot of orders coming in. I have a second designer who I went to school with and love her work. [Not saying I don't love you guys too!] and I may be getting a brick and mortar business office downtown in the next year. It's moving absurdly fast, and sometimes I have to look in the mirror and check to make sure I'm the same person.

I'm mostly sad that there are people who were trying to get with me to order commissions and I was no where to be found. I'm not happy about that one. Since my sub died out about a year ago, those fancy buttons on my journal have disappeared but this will stay up like a beacon of hope that one day I will return and share some designs.

I did share one today. Felt good. Real good.
